Mobile Number Portability Nationwide rollout from Jan 20

After missing three deadlines, the government finally introduced mobile number portability that will allow subscribers to switch operators without changing their existing cellphone numbers in Haryana. Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal also announced the simultaneous launch of mobile number portability (MNP) across the country from January 20. A customer will have to pay a maximum of Rs 19 to the new operator to change network.

The new operator would have the option to waive the fee or reduce it. But the facility comes with a rider — the customer cannot migrate to another operator...More News...
